God loves you and has a wonderful plan for your life!
Brothers and friends, the Christ of Good Friday (The depth of Love) and Easter Sunday (The height of hope) is alive yesterday, today, and forever. When Jesus died on the cross and rose from the dead, He proved that He was God, that He could forgive sins and accept sinners with His unconditional love, and that He has the power to change our lives and bring salvation.
Romans 1:3-4 “Regarding His Son, who as to His earthly life was a descendant of David, and who through the Spirit of Holiness was appointed the Son of God in power by his resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Good Friday and Easter Sunday are the fulfilment of God’s promises to mankind. They prove the depth of God’s love and the height of the hope that we have because of Jesus. It is not enough to only know the story of Good Friday and Easter Sunday and practice and celebrate it by tradition, we must not only believe these facts are true but we must also accept and trust Jesus as our personal Lord and Saviour.
By trusting Jesus we are accepted by God. Christ died once for our sins, an innocent person died for those who are guilty. Jesus Christ did this to bring you to God the Father, when His body was put to death and His spirit was made alive. (1 Peter 3:18 “For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit.”)
By trusting Jesus our sins are forgiven. Jesus Christ sacrificed His life to set us free from traditions and sins, which means our sins are now forgiven. Christ did this because God was so kind to all of us. (Ephesians 1:7 “In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace.”)
By trusting Jesus we can live forever. Jesus brings us eternal life. (John 11:25-26 “Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die.”)
(1 Corinthians 15:20-22 “But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep. For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. But each in turn: Christ, the firstfruits; then, when he comes, those who belong to him. Then the end will come, when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power”.)
By trusting Jesus we can start living the right way, without the control of sin over us. Jesus Christ carried the burden of our sins; He was nailed to death on the cross so that we would stop sinning and start living right. (1 Peter 2:24 “He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.”)
By trusting Jesus we need not be afraid of dying. Jesus became one of us, He died to destroy the evil who had power over death. But He also died to rescue all of us who live each day in fear of dying. (Hebrews 2:14-15 “ Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might break the power of him who holds the power of death—that is, the devil— and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death.”)
By trusting Jesus we can get help when we are tempted to sin. Hebrews 2:17-18 “For this reason He had to be made like them, fully human in every way, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people. Because He Himself suffered when He was tempted, He is able to help those who are being tempted.”
Brothers and friends, Jesus invites you to accept and trust Him today. (Revelations 3:20 “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.”)
The events of Good Friday look like the greatest tragedy but it was the greatest triumph of love and justice over sin and death. It shows the greatest and deepest love of God to the humankind (John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”)
I hope you realize the true meaning of Good Friday (the greatest and deepest love of God), and accept Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour! and if you does, please say this simple prayer of acceptance wholeheartedly:
"Heavenly Father, I admit that I am a sinner. I believed that Jesus Christ is your son, and that He died to pay the penalty for my sins on the cross. Jesus, I now put my complete trust in You to save me by Your death on the cross. Thank You for forgiving my sins and giving me free eternal life. Make me the person that You want me to be. Help me to follow You and teach me to understand and obey Your Word. Thank You so much.
In Jesus wonderful name, AMEN."
